Be Safe, Be Healthy and Continue Praying: On Being Selfless and The Campaign Against AH1n1..

I got this entry from UST Central Student Council's Multiply Site and found it as a good read..

Thomasians, this is not the time to ignore the things that are happening in our country, most especially in the campuses here in Manila.

We have already posted the circular signed by Fr. Isidro Abano, O.P., the UST secretary general, regarding the guidelines and measures for the prevention of the AH1N1 Virus. It's for strict compliance so that, together, we will be able to fight against virus invasion in our campus. Awareness is just the start of the campaign but the most crucial and significant part is you doing the preventive measures.

We do aim for you guys to take part by exerting your efforts to avoid this kind of illness.

We suppose that washing your hands thoroughly and regularly will do no harm, right?

How about buying your own alcohol or sanitizers other than spending funds to some useless junk?

We are hoping that you won't take this for granted and that you won't just read and repost it.

Moreover, UST, though most of the times flooded, is not the only campus we should pray for protection.

Yesterday, in INQUIRER.NET, it was reported that the University of the Philippines - Diliman was hit by a tornado on Thursday.

PAGASA deputy administrator Nathaniel Cruz said, "Based on their initial investigation, it was a real tornado. Witnesses said they saw a funnel-shaped column from above descend downward."

He said that it lasted for 10 minutes. And he claimed that Tornadoes "can appear very quickly and there is no way to predict where they would strike."

We have heard news from Diliman, let's now travel to Taft.

The news broke out on Wednesday that a Japanese exchange student in De La Salle Univerisity had a confirmed case of AH1N1 virus. However, according to INQUIRER.NET yesterday, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the second case of AH1N1 infection in the same University in Taft.

The total of H1n1 cases here in our country went up to 29.These are not rumors but verified news.

Fellow Thomasians, we are not just encouraging you to be safe. And we are not just asking you to lend your prayers for the protection of our University and the people inside our campus. But we are also asking for you guys to pray for the University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, their students and even other campuses all throughout the Philippines.

In fact, we do have friends from other schools right?

So Thomasians: be safe, be healthy and continue praying.
